Competition Information

Competition Format

This meet will be held under the sanction of USA Swimming and Iowa Swimming, Inc. (IASI). USA Approval #: IA-25-71A

Swimmers do not have to be a member of USA swimming to compete. If you are a USA Swimming member, please enter your USA ID # during registration. All USA Swim members will be charged a $6 surcharge during registration (required by Iowa Swimming).

The youth and masters will compete in the same meet. This is a meet for individual competition only. THERE WILL BE NO RELAYS.

Timed finals in all races. All swimmers will be deck seeded.

Athletes can swim up to 6 events per day.

The 25 yard pool has 6 lanes for competition. The depth at the start end and turn end of the pool is 4 feet 6 inches. As you swim, the pool remains 4 feet 6 inches. A Daktronics timing system will be used with a button back up, and a timer with a manual stopwatch in each lane. As well as 6 inch competitor gold lane lines with 15m buoy markings.

The host will ensure the required course dimensions.

In granting this approval, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and Iowa Swimming, Inc. shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms, and lockers rooms. Deck changes are prohibited.

Age Determining Date

July 12, 2025 (athlete’s age on the first day of the meet)

MAAPP

All applicable adults participating in or associated with this meet, acknowledge that they are subject to the provisions of the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (“MAAPP”), and that they understand that compliance with the MAAPP policy is a condition of participation in the conduct of this competition. Sport Specific Information

USA Coaches are allowed on deck with proper identification.

In events with few athletes, the meet management has the right to seed divisions together. Seed times should be in yards or NT (no time). Please indicate on entry form.

The 500 yard event is not guaranteed as it is based on the number of swimmers. If athletes swim a distance event (500 or longer), they will be expected to count for another individual in a different heat of that event or arrange for a person to serve as their personal lap counter.

Divisions

Male and Female divisions will be offered for each event in each age group. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each.

Swimmers doing the 500 Free and 1000 Free must provide their own timers and lap counters.
