UNC Psychiatry is proud to partner with the Foundation of Hope to support the research and treatment of mental illnesses. We interweave education, research, and clinical care to provide comprehensive support, evaluation and treatment to individuals with mental health concerns and their families. The Department also provides the state of North Carolina with the largest number of licensed psychiatrists, who overwhelmingly choose to continue on to work in the public sector in a variety of fields, including child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, eating disorders, and women’s mood disorders.
