We joined this walk in honor of my Mom who lost her battle with depression in August of 2022. It has been 3 years without her and we have struggled immensely in her absence.
We want to help prevent other families from enduring the grief and loss that we are of a loved one and help those currently struggling with their mental health. There is a dire need for research and change in the healthcare system to help those struggling in silence.
Over the past 3 years our team has been able to raise over $65,000 to donate to mental health research at the UNC Chapel Hill Dept of Psychiatry. We hope that this year we can do the same and help to provide the funds that are so desperately needed.
