Team Chili Peppers: Walking with Purpose, Fueled by HopeTeam Chili Peppers is a passionate group of people united by one powerful belief: mental health matters. We come together to honor those we’ve lost to mental illness, to support those who are still fighting, and to inspire real, lasting change.
For over a decade, we’ve walked with determination—raising more than $108,900 for the Foundation of Hope to fund critical mental health research and awareness efforts. Our mission is to educate, break the stigma, and build a future where mental wellness is prioritized and protected.
Every step we take is for those who can’t. Every voice we raise is for those who feel unheard. Because while one person can spark change, together we are unstoppable.

Why am I fundraising?
Why I Walk for HopeI walk for my brother, Mark.
In 2013, after losing Mark to mental illness, my world changed forever. The grief was deep and consuming, but in the midst of that pain, I knew I had to find a way to turn my sorrow into something meaningful. That’s when I found the Walk for Hope—and in Mark’s memory, Team Chili Peppers was born.
Mark was so much more than his struggles. Though he battled anxiety, depression, and addiction—often in silence—what I remember most is his brilliant mind, his quick wit, his desire for justice, and his unforgettable smile. He was passionate about life, about people, and about making the world better. And, of course, he had a fierce love for hot chili peppers, chicken wings, and Graeter’s Ice Cream.
Creating Team Chili Peppers was my way of keeping Mark’s spirit alive—of turning heartbreak into action. Over the last 12 years, my team and I have raised $108,900 for the Foundation of Hope, funding vital research that brings us closer to understanding mental illness, finding better treatments, and saving lives.
Mark may no longer be here, but his legacy lives on in every dollar raised, every conversation sparked, and every life touched. I walk because I believe, like Mark did, that we can make the world a better place.
Together, we are walking for hope, walking for change, and walking for those who need us most.
