About Team Jon
Thank you for visiting our Team Jon page, honoring the life and legacy of Jon Williams. Jon was an incredible family man, friend, and physician. It’s hard to believe that 9/1 will mark 2 years since Jon lost his battle with depression, and we lost a loving husband and father. We miss Jon every day - his compassion, humor, contagious laugh, intelligence, and megawatt smile. Jon’s death left a giant hole in our lives, but we’ve learned many lessons about grief, loss, heartache, faith, time, and love. We’ve also learned about mental health and the importance of self-care, research, dialogue, and breaking stigmas. Please walk with Team Jon on 10/9 in the Walk for Hope, or make a donation. All earnings fund UNC Psychiatry grants for mental health research. Let’s work together to bring awareness to difficult topics like depression and suicide. We were blown away by last year’s support for Team Jon, and we’re eager to make an impact again this year. With love and gratitude,

Why am I fundraising?
This man. He was the best - so full of love and life! He also struggled with depression. I am raising money for the Walk for Hope because I believe deeply in its mission to fund mental health research, but also because I want my girls to see that their dad can continue to make a difference, even in his death. These are difficult and painful topics - depression and suicide. Let's open the dialogue and break the stigma. Thank you for supporting Team Jon!
