About Team Jerry Schlechter
TEAM JERRY honors the life and memory of Jerry Schlechter. This year, we are participating in the Walk for Hope, an annual event in Raleigh that raises funds for mental health research and treatment, and we will be walking in Jerry's honor.Though Jerry had his struggles, they were only one small part of who he was. Jerry loved to have fun and had a way of making life more fun for the people around him. He enjoyed the moment, made memories wherever he went, and loved spending time with family and friends. We miss his infectious smile, his humor and personality, and most of all, simply having him in our lives.
For us, this Walk is an opportunity to come together for Jerry—to share memories, laugh, remember the good times, and celebrate his life. Every person who walks with us and every donation made in his memory makes this tribute that much more meaningful.
We walk for Jerry. We walk with his memory beside us. And we walk with hope.
Thank you for helping us honor Jerry and supporting Team Jerry,
Gerald Schlechter, Valerie Schlechter, Jerbie Schlechter, Lauren Francey, Andy, Alyese, Aurora, Athena, Anastasia & Andrew Schlechter
Why am I fundraising?
Walking in Honor of Jerry SchlechterDear friends and family,
I'd like your help with a cause that's very important to us. This year, We are joining the Walk for Hope, an annual event in Raleigh that has raised millions of dollars for the research and treatment of mental illness, and we will be walking in honor and memory of Jerry.
Though Jerry had his struggles, they were only one small part of who he was. Jerry loved to have fun and had a way of making life more fun for the people around him. He enjoyed the moment, made memories wherever he went, and loved spending time with family and friends. His infectious smile, humor, and personality are just a few of the many things we miss and will always remember.
This isn't an event for an obscure disease few of us may ever encounter. One in 5 American adults lives with a mental illness - each of us either is someone or knows someone who's been affected. And yet, mental illness is, too often, an invisible burden.
We want to do something to help, and We are hoping you’ll be willing to pitch in—by making a donation, joining Team Jerry for the Walk (or both!)
Thank you,
Gerald Schlechter, Valerie Schlechter, Jerbie Schlechter, Lauren Francey, Andy, Alyese, Aurora, Athena, Anastasia & Andrew Schlechter
