About CORRAL

Our Mission
We’re a faith-motivated nonprofit that equips adolescent girls in high-risk situations through a long-term, holistic program of equine therapy and education to prepare each girl and her community with skills, resources, and opportunities so that she can gain access to a bright future.
Our Vision
Ending the cycle to intergenerational trauma and systemic marginalization in our community.
Our Work
Historically, CORRAL has been an after-school program where girls who are typically referred by court counselors, the juvenile justice system, and school counselors come for academic tutoring, vocational training, mental health services including equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and college preparation.
However, the pandemic illuminated systemic issues causing our girls to fall further behind in school and become more vulnerable to magnified high-risk situations. So, we shifted gears and in August of 2020, created an all-day program for our girls to receive virtual schooling support, therapy, nutritionally-balanced meals, vocational training, college prep and a community-led level of care and support.
The crises our girls face still happen, but they are becoming more equipped and resilient to handle them with our support. Academically, they are thriving. This community has provided them with hotspots, laptops and WiFi, as well as family counseling and food support. Our girls are learning healthy study habits, how to ask questions, how to advocate for themselves and how to reach out for help. Visit corralriding.org/blog to learn more.
