QUALIFICATIONS

The Empire State Winter Games, in conjunction with the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) and NYSEF, proudly host a variety of adaptive alpine ski events for athletes of all ability levels at the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center. Adaptive alpine races are open to all persons with a physical or cognitive disability. You do not have to be a New York State resident to participate in the Empire State Games.

Assisted novice adaptive athletes will compete on the Otter Trail, which is conveniently located at Whiteface Mountain's Bear Den Learning Center. Qualified personnel, including members of the Whiteface Ski School adaptive staff, will assist these competitors up the bunny hutch chairlift and guide them down in special sleds through a flagged GS course. Each competitor will be entitled to two timed runs, with the fastest run determining their placing. Helmets are mandatory for all athletes. All equipment will be provided upon request.
