New Decade: New Name, New Look

The Celebrate Your Mother 5k is now the Mother's Day Classic 5K Presented by Carolina Pediatric Dentistry. We will still celebrate our mothers by running or walking a 5K with them through Wake Forest, but we have a new course and a new look. And a brand new way to celebrate!

REGISTER BY FEBRUARY 14TH FOR EARLY BIRD PRICING!

The new, beautiful course starts and finishes at the gateway to town hall at Centennial Plaza and loops through the town showcasing the modern upgrades. (Check out the course information here.)

New beneficiary: The run benefits the North East Wake Backpack Buddies: "Because hunger doesn't take the weekends off..." 

Join us Sunday, May 10, 2020 (start time 8:30am) 

Don't leave anyone at home! This event is open to men, women, children, and your furry family members too. The run is stroller-friendly and pet-friendly (pets on leashes, please) so don't worry about getting a babysitter or dogsitter.  

Course Description

This is a 5k course run entirely on the streets of Wake Forest. Starting and finishing at Centennial Plaza, you will enjoy a site-seeing tour of the historic streets of Wake Forest.  Go at your own pace - run or walk your way back to the finish line. All registered runners will receive official times, and are eligible for awards. 

Race Day Schedule

6:45-8:15am: Packet pickup and race day registration
8:15am: Runners make their way to the starting line
8:20-8:30am: Announcements; National Anthem
8:30am: 5K Start 
9:45am: Awards Ceremony
8:00am - 9:45am: Race Festival with Music, Face Painters, Children's and Adult Fun and Food
10:00am - Head to Norse Brewing Company for a post-race celebration!

Race Amenities

All runners will receive the official 2020 Wake Forest Mother's Day Classic 5K t-shirt and finisher's medal and a fun post-race party! Women will enjoy a free MOMosa from Norse Brewing Company.

Make this the start of a fun and fit Mother's Day.

Top three overall female and male winners.
Top three overall female and male masters winners.

Age Group Categories for Women, Men and Children

The top three male and female athletes in the following age groups will receive awards:
8 and under; 9-11; 12-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+

You must be present to claim your award. We will not mail out or save awards - so make sure to stick around and enjoy all the festivities!

Food Drive

We ask that everyone attending our event (runners, volunteers, and spectators) please bring a food item to our race weekend food drive. While you are running, the North East Wake Backpack Buddies will be organizing and dividing the food so that it can be distributed to feed our local children.

This is a great way to get children of every age involved in community service. Every child understands what it feels like to be hungry. Take them to the store and give them $5 to purchase items for the food-drive.
