I am excited to share that I will be participating in the 2024 Walk for Hope to raise funds for the Foundation of Hope. This organization is dedicated to funding crucial research on mental illness and spreading awareness to combat the stigma associated with these conditions.

The funds raised will support research on a variety of mental health conditions, including alcoholism, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, schizophrenia, and women's mood disorders.

Mental illness touches all of our lives—one in five American adults experience mental illness, and due to the pandemic, that number is now closer to one in three.

Suicide is the tenth-leading cause of death in the U.S., with 130 lives lost each day.

We all have a stake in this—it may not be you, but it is definitely someone you know, someone you love.

I walk in memory of brother-in-law, Disco Dave, aka David Johansson. Dave was a loving son, devoted brother, doting uncle, and loyal friend to all. You never saw Dave without a smile, and you could always count on him to make you laugh.
He loved everyone.
He loved having a good time.
He loved life.
On October 9, 2011, Dave took his own life.

To honor Dave's memory, I have made it my mission to spread the message of HOPE and remind everyone: DON'T GIVE UP.
