Competition Format

This is a USA Approved Meet. USA Approval #: 

Swimmers do not have to be a member of USA swimming to compete. If you are a USA Swimming member, please enter your USA ID # during registration.  All USA Swim members will be charged a $6 surcharge during registration (required by USA Swimming).

The youth and masters will compete in the same meet.  This is a meet for individual competition only. THERE WILL BE NO RELAYS.

Timed finals in all races. All swimmers will be deck seeded.

Athletes can swim in up to 6 events per day.

The host will ensure the required course dimensions. 

In granting this approval, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and Iowa Swimming, Inc. shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms, and lockers rooms. Deck changes are prohibited.

PLEASE NOTE: The shallowest depth of this pool is 6ft.

Age Determining Date

January 31, 2026 (athlete’s age as of meet day)

MAAPP

All adults participating in or associated with this meet acknowledge that they are subject to the provisions of the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (“MAAPP”) and that they understand that compliance with MAAPP is a condition of participation in the conduct of this competition.

A quality control system has been implemented to ensure that individuals who are ineligible for participation are unable to participate in this competition. Additionally, all adult members if USA Swimming who have not completed their Athlete Protection  Training will not be able to participate at this meet. Sport Specific Information

USA Coaches are allowed on deck with proper identification.

In events with few athletes, the meet management has the right to seed divisions together. Seed times should be in yards or NT (no time).  Please indicate on entry form.

The 500 yard event is not guaranteed as it is based on the number of swimmers.  If athletes swim a distance event (500 or longer), they will be expected to count for another individual in a different heat of that event or arrange for a person to serve as their personal lap counter.
 

Divisions

Male and Female divisions will be offered for each event in each age group. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each.

*Depending on interest, the 400 IM will be added to either Saturday or Sunday’s schedule. TBD based on registration numbers. If we do not receive enough registrants for the 400 IM, it will be removed from this event.
