5K, 1 Mile Run

Sat, September 19, 2020 @ 9 am

5000 Glenhope Court
Cary, NC 27511

Due to Governor Roy Cooper’s declaration and in general public health concerns over COVID-19, this year's G5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be virtual September 19, 2020. Your health and safety is our top priority.
Thank you for your support and understanding.

For current participants who cannot make September 19, 2020, we are happy to refund your entry fee.

This event had over 370 entrants in 2019.  Omar Wiggan led all finishers with a 17:13 clocking, while Bona Bame led the women with a 20:13 performance.  Wiggan holds the course record of 16:58 set in 2017. Kylie Feldman holds the women’s mark of 18:44, also set in 2017.
The event, hosted by the Glenaire Continuing Care Retirement Community, typically starts and finishes at their facility located at 5000 Glenhope Court in Cary.  Since this year's race is virtual you have an opportunity to run this course or any other 5K course from September 17th to September 24th.  Once you have completed your course you can upload your time into Racereach.  Please note that the residents and staff will be on the course Saturday, September 19th from 9 am - 10:30 am.  We ask that you refrain from running the course during that time only.  You are welcome to stand along the course and cheer them on, but we are still under a no visitor on campus restriction.

The 5K entry fee is $30.

The 1-Mile Fun Run fee is $20.  T-shirt and swag included.  Children under the age of 12 are free, but this does not include a t-shirt unless you choose to purchase one for $10.

Register before September 1st to be guaranteed a t-shirt.  After September 1st t-shirts will be “as available”.

You can also purchase a black Headsweat running hat or visor with the cool G5K logo for an additional $20. These must also be ordered no later than September 1st.

Awards for the 5K will be presented to the first three men overall, to the first three women overall and to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions (both genders): 12-under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-over. Please stay tuned on how to redeem your prize!

Pre-registered runners can pick up their packets and late entrants can register on Thursday, September 17th, at the Jordan lake Brewing Company located at 320 East Durham Road in Cary from 4:30 - 7 pm.

The race will benefit the Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc., whose mission is to provide senior adults with caring and high quality services in support of their physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being.
