About Team Jon

Team Jon Thank you for visiting our Team Jon page, honoring the life and legacy of Jon Williams. Jon was an incredible family man, friend, and physician. It’s hard to believe that 9/1 will mark 2 years since Jon lost his battle with depression, and we lost a loving husband and father. We miss Jon every day - his compassion, humor, contagious laugh, intelligence, and megawatt smile. Jon’s death left a giant hole in our lives, but we’ve learned many lessons about grief, loss, heartache, faith, time, and love. We’ve also learned about mental health and the importance of self-care, research, dialogue, and breaking stigmas. Please walk with Team Jon on 10/9 in the Walk for Hope, or make a donation. All earnings fund UNC Psychiatry grants for mental health research. Let’s work together to bring awareness to difficult topics like depression and suicide. We were blown away by last year’s support for Team Jon, and we’re eager to make an impact again this year.
