About Time After Time
I created this team several years ago in order to support the research for treatment and cures of mental illness. The Foundation of Hope does an incredible job funding research and raising awareness and so annually supporting this Walk for Hope has become an important tradition. The team was named "Time after Time" because this song always reminded me of my relationship with my mom. Since I was a little girl, my mom has suffered greatly from mental illness, many years in which she was lost and homeless. I can only hope a cure will be found for what she has dealt with all of these years. Mental illness can devastate individuals, families and still continues to have a stigma that other diseases like cancer and diabetes do not. Too many people suffer in silence because we know so little about these diseases of the brain. Your support means so much and I cannot thank you enough!********
Since 1984, The Foundation of Hope for Research and Treatment of Mental Illness has awarded over 145 scientific research grants totaling more than $6 million; subsequently, these funds have leveraged an additional $155 million from the National Institute of Health and other federal agencies.
The Foundation of Hope has funded grants from 1985-2018. The Foundation of Hope funds scientists whose projects explore the biological, neurological, and genetic bases of mental illness, and which forge paths to improved diagnosis and treatment. Researchers who apply for funding do so with projects that shed light on the causes of, treatments for, and even potential cures for, mental illness.
The projects we support focus on a variety of mental disorders, including but not limited to:
Alcoholism
Anxiety disorders
Autism
Bipolar disorders
Depression
Postpartum depression
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Schizophrenia
Social phobias
