Donate On Behalf Of An Individual Or Team

My life experiences have affected my views on mental health disorders. I strongly believe that there should be no stigma attached to having an illness of the brain just as there is none for a physical issue. My family tree has members who have suffered greatly from mental health disorders. Depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder have impacted many of them. I lost my wonderful brother, who suffered from the demons of bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and anxiety. It was heartbreaking to lose someone so close to me whom I loved so deeply. I have worked in a school for children with mental health disorders. Even the well-trained staff is sometimes unable to provide consistent education to the children because of their issues. Some people feel that a mentally ill person doesn't have enough willpower to get better; people need to understand that chemical imbalances of the brain cannot be treated by motivation alone.
