Can I change my race distance?
Yes, you may change your race distance through Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11:59pm. Click here to change your race distance online. After Feb. 20, all change distances must be made in person at the Expo.

What is your refund policy?
Please note that the Myrtle Beach Marathon reserves the right to reject any entry. Also, we adhere to the standard running industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is noted on our registration application and when you register for our events you must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual - if you do, this will result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, etc. There are NO exceptions!

Can I defer my registration to the following year? 
Yes, you can defer your registration to next year's race for $15 by completing the race deferral form here. The form must be completed prior to 
Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11:59pm. Deferral requests after this time will not be accepted.

Are awards based on gun time or chip time?
Overall awards will be based on gun time, and age group awards will be determined using chip time.

How many participants are allowed in each event?
MB Marathon: 3,000
Half Marathon: 5,000  
5K: 2,000

What is the course elevation?
The highest course elevation is no more than 50 ft.

Is this a Boston Marathon qualifier?
Yes! This is one of the flattest and fastest Boston qualifiers around!

What food and drinks will be on the course? 

Please Note: The information below is a reflection of the 2018 event. More information about the 2019 Myrtle Beach Marathon is coming soon! Water and sports drinks will be at all water stops (about every two miles), Gu will be offered at Mile 14 and 22 and Bananas will be offered at Mile 20.

Can I pick up someone else’s packet?
Yes, you can pick up someone else’s packet if they cannot make it to the expo.  You will need a picture of their photo ID.

Is there a race-day packet pick-up?
No, there will be no race-day packet pick-up! All packets must be picked up at the runners expo held on Friday, March 1st. A friend or family member can pick up your race bib if they show your bib email (which will be sent Wednesday prior to the race) or a picture of your photo ID. No exceptions will be made for race day packet pick-up.

Can I wear headphones?
While the Myrtle Beach Marathon does not encourage the use of headphones during the event for safety reasons, you may use them at your own risk.

Can I run with a stroller?
Bicycles, baby strollers, skates, in-line skates, and skate boards are prohibited. Strollers are allowed in the Family Fun Run.

Are there pacers?
Yes, all pacing teams will be located at the start of the race.  Pacing times are as follows:

  • Full Marathon - Finish times of 3:00 | 3:15 | 3:30 | 3:45 | 4:00 | 4:15 | 4:30 | 4:45 | 5:00 | 5:15 | 5:30

  • Half Marathon - Finish times of 1:30 | 1:45 | 2:00 | 2:15 | 2:30 | 2:45 | 3:00

Can some one else run in my place?
No. Transfers from person to person are not allowed.

Can I drop my bag off at the start and pick it up at the finish?
Yes, there will be a Gear Check tent for you to drop off your belongings at the start of the race and you can pick them up at the finish line area.

Is there a lost and found?
Any items found during the race will be held by race staff. Contact info@mbmarathon.com if you lost an item.

Do you provide free entries for elite athletes?
Yes, Click Here to see if you qualify!

What happens if I win an award and can’t pick it up?
All awards must be pick up on race day, no awards will be mailed out after the event.

My time is not showing up, what do I do?

There is an error with the results, how do I get it corrected?

When will I get my photos?
All runners will receive an email when photos are available to view and purchase about 7-10 days after the race.
